Recent Collaboration with Peter Francis Lawrence

In late June, I had the pleasure of stepping into the creative world of artist Peter Francis Lawrence for a portrait photography session in his studio.

It’s always a privilege to photograph someone in their element, and Peter’s studio is a perfect reflection of his creative spirit — layered, thoughtful, and quietly magnificent.

We are close friends and from the moment I arrived, we fell into easy conversation about art, light, and life.

There’s something deeply rewarding about photographing fellow creatives; a mutual understanding of process and patience settles over the room, making way for authentic moments to unfold naturally.

Peter’s works surrounded us — canvases of texture and colour, each piece radiating its own quiet energy. I made sure to capture not just Peter’s portrait but the relationship between artist and artwork; those subtle glances, the hand resting gently on a canvas edge, the light catching on layered paint.

Peter is very warm and he welcomed me into his space with genuine enthusiasm that's reflective in his paintings. There’s a certain alchemy in collaborating with someone so passionate about their craft.

I left the studio that day not just with a series of beautiful portraits, but with a renewed appreciation for the artists who quietly, persistently, shape the visual language of our communities.
