Why I Love Being a Photographer
There's a certain kind of magic in being able to freeze a moment in time. That's what photography is to me. A way to bottle up an emotion, light, stories, and beauty, all in a single frame. Every time I pick up my camera, I'm reminded why I love this craft.
- One of the things I cherish most about photography is its ability to reveal the unnoticed. A flicker of light dancing across the subject's face, the fleeting glance between 2 people in love, or the quiet beauty of a foggy morning. These are moments that pass most people by, but through the lens, they become immortal. Photography has taught me to see, not just look. It's changed the way I experience the world.
- Behind every image is a story. Whether it's a street scene or a headshot, product or lifestyle shot or interior. I can tell a story without saying a single word. I love the challenge of creating something special out of everyday life. The ability to translate feelings into visuals is something that constantly pushes me creatively and keeps me inspired.
- Being a photographer has introduced me to so many incredible people! From clients who trust me, fellow creatives, and to people that I am commissioned to photograph from all walks of life. Being a photographer allows me to step into people's worlds even for just a short time and that's a beautiful thing!
- Photography is a craft that is always evolving. New techniques and equipment to try, new locations to explore, and always new places to be. I am always learning and growing.
- At it's core, photography is about legacy. Long after the moments have passed, the photographs remain, new life, buildings demolished, and places changing.
- Being a photographer is more than just taking pictures. It's a way of connecting with the world, people and myself. I feel grateful every day that I get to do what I love.
